My name is Bou Bosso. I am a fishing guide in beautiful Islamorada, Florida. I have been fishing here since I was six months old and have grown to truly love fishing the flats and backcountry surrounding the keys. I graduated from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville and returned to Islamorada in order to pursue my immense passion for fishing. I don't know how to explain it, but for some reason the bonefish down here just would not allow me to do anything else.
The one thing that I want to get across through this short introductory article is that I truly love to fish. You will never meet a fishing guide that gets more excited and energized when his clients catch fish and are having a great time. You don't have to worry about me yelling at you or taking it too serious. My job is to show you the fish and make it as easy as possible for you to try and catch them. I love to laugh and just enjoy the time that I get to spend with my clients. Though I do like to have a good time, I am also a very knowledgeable fisherman here in Islamorada. I have spent over twenty years learning this place on my own. On my days off, I fish. Unlike numerous other local captains, I try and get out as many days as I possibly can, regardless of if I am getting paid or not.
Anglers of all experience levels are more than welcome. Regardless of if you want to use spinning gear of fly fishing gear, either are available. I have been throwing a spinning rod since I was born and a fly rod since I was ten years old. This makes it no problem for me to give helpful tips on technique to anglers who may want some constructive criticism. I also use only the best of fishing tackle for my clients. I currently operate a 2019 Chittum Islamorada 18. Head over to the Boat page to learn more about my skiff
All of my rods are made by GLoomis. The reels that accompany these rods are all either Shimano spinning reels or Tibor fly fishing reels. I am a firm believer in using the best quality equipment while trying to capture that trophy fish of your dreams. I would not give an angler any equipment that I myself would not want to use. Half of the equipment is actually my own personal stash. I am always available to entertain questions and am looking forward to fishing with you soon.
